Learning the intricacies of the crotchI think every artist should spend some time drawing porn. Filthy, dirty, wild fucking. Seriously. That shit will MAKE you practice your anatomy. You think superheroes do lots of crazy poses? Porn forces you to learn those more esoteric parts of the anatomy only seen from very specific angles and once you learn those places you don't forget them. Oddly enough it seems to have helped my hand-work as well. No no, not that hand-work. The hands that I draw, they look better now. I'm actually not sure if that's a cause-effect of the naughty pics or just me getting better in general. I am definitely getting better. Whether or not I'm actually GOOD is still up for debate. Tablets are difficult to work with at first. I can tell it's definitely an "easy to learn, difficult to master" practice. I tried digitally inking that latest Grendar pic in the scraps and it did not go very well. It started off ok, but then started to look really wierd after a while. Probably the hardest part is keeping a steady hand, and keeping the same amount of pressure. Anyhoo, I shall carry on. Probably gonna get pretty wasted this weekend though.
