The pigs are walking in my town as well as the rest of the animals.
So I got a friend to give me a critique of my latest drawing of Lin today, a picture I really like and feel quite proud of, but man, she tore it apart! Pointed out so many flaws and mistakes it made my head spin.
It was a really good critique. Humbling. I manage to not get defensive and offended anymore when people criticize my work ("Where's his thumbs?") but now it's kind of hard not to get depressed and discouraged. To have so many glaring errors and mistakes pointed out to me in excruciating detail reinforces that deep seated fear that No I'm Not Talented and I'm just running on borrowed luck that's going to run out fucking quickly if I don't shape the hell up. That there are many, MANY people out there who are far more capable, hard-working, and deserving of success than I am and that I'm just a pretender cheapstaking his way to success like that fucker Rob Liefeld.
Jesus Christ I don't want to be another Liefeld.
I need to do more practice drawing in my spare time. My anatomy still needs a lot of work and it's getting harder and harder to justify the way I draw faces. I'd love to be able to draw like
[link] one day. I should get on with that.
We gained a dog the other day but lost a hippo. It was not a fair trade.

My boyfriend showed me the slipshine website and I said "wow that looks a lot like loserz."
For the past 7 months give or take I've been working on a series for Slipshine called Linburger: [link]
I'm really proud of how it's come along so far and having a lot of fun with it!
Eventually I'll get around to making new webcomics, though it'll probably be a new series apart from Loserz.

I dunno, it's been a while, I was like in 9th grade when I started reading it and I'm in sophy in college now.
I miss it so much. I don't usually read webcomics- but yours was always my favorite and one of the only ones I've ever read. I didn't even know you had a devart.
It's been a while since I've read loserz, I have trouble keeping up with it cause it moves so often, so you still make strips? Have you been working on anything new?
*squeeee* so excited to randomly encounter you on devart, I hope I don't seem to creepy.
